Lithuania demands compensation from Russia

Vilnius –APA. Lithuanian newly-elected Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius announced his position concerning relations with Russia. The Prime Minister said he saw relations with Russia as a special part of the government’s program, APA reports. The new government will actively participate in reviewing of relations with the European Union and Russia, said the Prime Minister in his statement. The Lithuanian government intends to resolve the issue of elimination of the results of Soviet occupation and to demand compensation from Russia for the people deported from the Baltic countries in the period of USSR. “At the same time, the government will force Russia in the EU level to investigate January 13 events and Medininkai massacre and to bring criminals into the justice as well”.
