# 26 June 2007 10:43 (UTC +04:00)
At the NATO Bucharest Summit, the Alliance intends to extend further invitations to those countries who meet NATO’s performance-based standards, share our values, and are able to contribute to Euro-Atlantic security and stability, APA Bureau in Europe reports.
The 2008 Summit will send invitations to Albania, Croatia and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia in order to encourage them to make further progress as outlined in the most recent assessment of MAP.
Ukrainian deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Khandogi told the tenth anniversary of NATO-Ukraine Distinctive Partnership that within its Euro-Atlantic aspirations Georgia plans to join the NATO membership action plan at the Bucharest Summit.
He added that Georgia has great chance because the 100% population supports its accession to NATO but hotspots in Georgia make the situation difficult. /APA/
