In the US market, the Dow Jones index fell by 152.09 points, or 0.29%, to 52,421.20 points; the S&P 500 index declined by 37 points, or 0.48%, to 7,619.98 points, while the Nasdaq Composite fell by 146.63 points, or 0.56%, to 26,186.41 points. The NYSE Composite index decreased by 0.52% to 24,205.39 points.

A decline was also observed in European markets. The UK's FTSE 100 index, on the contrary, rose by 0.44% to 10,697.57 points.

Mixed dynamics were also recorded in the Asia-Pacific region. Although Japan's Nikkei 225 index rose by 0.48% to 63,795.13 points, the TOPIX fell by 0.43% to 4,040.59 points. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index declined by 0.27%, China's CSI 300 index by 0.01%, and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 index by 0.79%.

Market participants have focused their main attention on oil prices remaining high, tensions in the Middle East, and future interest rate decisions by central banks. Rising energy prices are increasing inflation risks and putting pressure on stocks.
