Azerbaijani Appeal Court’s judge confirms corruption in judiciary
“Bribe-taking cases exist at all levels. There are bribery cases even in the states like US. But it must have limits. It is not right to connect bribing only with judgesâ€. Ilham Hasanov Appeal Court has 35 judges and they work very hardly.
“ Only in 2006 we considered 12 thousand applications. Judges work very hardly. It is physically impossible to do judges’ works sometimes. Judges differ from each otherâ€.
Ilham Hasanov said judges were not punished for their false verdict until today. “Law punishes for biased verdict of judges. We could not find any judge punished for false verdictâ€. Ilham Hasanov emphasized the low level of young lawyers recruited by courts.†Education also suffers from problems. The education level of young lawyers is too badâ€.
Safa Mirzayev seriously reacted to Ilham Hasanov’s statement. Head of parliament Administration protested to the judge’s remarks.
†We can refer to everything as pretext. But it should not be done for bribing and contradicting law. We should learn good things from the USâ€./APA/
