He said the editorial staff started operating in 1989 and its main aim is to prepare a memory book about Azerbaijani died in World War II, post-war military conflicts, Afghanistan and Karabach wars. Nahid Hajizade noted that the bookâ€™a publication started in 1997 and 6 volumes (from A to I) have been published up to now. Short information about the names, surnames, place of birth of the martyrs, places where they fought, died and buried are given in the book. Each volume covers information about 15-17000 people. He underlined that according to their list there are 320,000 martyrs, 300,000 of them died in World War II, and the rest 20,000 in other wars.
Nahid Hajizade said the book is not sold, but distributed among martyrsâ€™ families as it was financed by the state budget. The editor-in-chief said the book will consist of 20 volumes and the publication will be over by 2015. The seventh volume of the book will be published in autumn. Presenting the website www.xatirekitabi.az Nahid Hajizade said all materials in the book are posted on the website.
The editor-in-chief noted that another book about national heroes died in Karabakh war has been published and one more book about policemen died in the war will be published. /APA/
