The final match of the European Chovqan Championship, organized by the International Chovqan Federation, took place in Poland on June 5-7, APA reports.
The Azerbaijani national team became the European champion for the first time in the competition.
In the final match, the Azerbaijani national team faced the Maltese team and won a convincing victory with a score of 6:2. With this result, team opened a new page in the history of chovqan, winning the tournament trophy.
It should be noted that the European Championship started on June 5. 6 countries - Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Hungary, Malta, Poland and Great Britain - are participating in the tournament. The first match of the Azerbaijani national team was played on June 5 with the Turkish chovqan team as a result of the draw, and Azerbaijani team won this match with a score of 3:0.
In the semi-final stage, which took place on June 6, Azerbaijani national team continued its dominance in the fight against the Hungarian team and won with a score of 4:0.
It should be noted that, according to the international chevkan calendar, the next continental prestigious competitions will be held in Uzbekistan - Asia in early September, in Nigeria - Africa in late September, and in Buenos Aires - South America in November.
