Abulfas Garayev: Inclusion of Gobustan into UNESCOâ€™s Cultural Heritage list is a great event for Azerbaijan

â€œInclusion of Gobustan into the of UNESCOâ€™s Cultural Heritage List is a great event for Azerbaijan,â€ Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev told journalists, APA reports.
The minister said that presidentâ€™s executive order on establishing Gobustan State Preserve and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyevaâ€™s letter changed the situation.
â€œGobustan preserveâ€™s being under Presidentâ€™s control had an impact on the commission members and the decision was passed unanimously. The presidentâ€™s executive order guarantees that all activities will be carried out within a year,â€ the minister said.
Noting that humanity is responsible for the protection of Gobustan preserve Abulfas Garayev said the commission will regularly concern itself with the state of the preserve. Asked by APA what other Azerbaijani monuments will be included in the UNESCO list the Minister said:
â€œSome monuments of Nakhchivan, Shaki and Baku are in our preliminary list. But admission in the UNESCO is a bit complicated. The monument the documents of which are prepared first will be included in the list,â€ he said. /APA/
