Abulfaz Garayev: UNESCO missionâ€™s expected visit is delayed

Garayev addressing the event said that Azerbaijani Culture Days were successfully held in Moscow. The minister said that Moscow Culture Days will be held in Azerbaijan in the first week of October, 2007 and the program of events is being prepared in Moscow at present.
The minister noted that his Norway visit was successful, and the two countries will cooperate in the field of museum.
â€œWe support the expansion of relations with Norway in the field of museum work. The preliminary negotiations have already been carried out, and soon mutual agreements will be concluded. After that, our museum workers will be able to use Norwegian practice,â€ he said.
The minister said that Azerbaijan for the first time will be represented in the international festival of artists in Venice on July 6.
Garayev stressed that leading works by artistsâ€™ will be demonstrated here. The minister spoke on the repair works in cultural places at the press conference.
â€œHeydar Aliyev Palace, Russian Drama Theatre, Young Spectators Theatre, Puppet Theatre, Art Museum are capitally repaired. Opera and Ballet Theatre, Academic National Drama Theatre will also be repaired,â€ he added.
Garayev said that several draft projects will be implemented on the development of tourism in Azerbaijan.
The minister said that Azerbaijani tourism specialists will soon visit China, Dubai and Pakistan.
Garayev also commented on the expected visit of a special UNESCO mission to the region with regard to destruction of historical-cultural monuments in the Armenian-occupied territories of Azerbaijan. The UNESO mission was expected to arrive in late April or early in May.
The Minister said the organization has not yet officially informed about the exact date of the visit. /APA/
