Round-table on “Perspectives of NATO’s Partnership Program for the sake of Peace: opinion and expectations of Azerbaijani society” held in Baku

Today, a round-table on “Perspectives of NATO’s Partnership Program for the sake of Peace: opinion and expectations of Azerbaijani society” was held in Baku, APA reports. The round-table was organized with the support of Romanian embassy in Azerbaijan by Azerbaijani Public Association for Security and Defense (APASD).

The president of the APASD Yashar Jafarli noted that Azerbaijan has taken part in PfP program since 1994 and some measures had been taken in Armed Forces within the framework of this program.

Romanian ambassador to Azerbaijan Nikolae Ureki spoke about NATO’s relations with partner countries. The ambassador said that no country can ensure its security in isolated situation: “We believe that NATO will keep in the focus of attention the relations with its neighbors in future as well. We think that NATO must include future partnership issues into its strategy too”.

Official of Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Emin Ibrahimov delivered speech on “Contribution of partnership”, official of Georgian ambassador to Azerbaijan Nikolaz Gogitidze delivered speech on “International practice – Georgian practice” at the round-table.
