Azerbaijan’s group rhythmic gymnastics team has won the European Cup held in Baku, APA reports.
The team consisting of Laman Alimuradova, Darya Sorokina, Yelizaveta Luzan, Kamilla Aliyeva, and Sofiya Mammadova took first place in the routine with three balls and two hoops.
The performance of the Azerbaijani gymnasts was rated at 24.700 points.
Ukraine took second place with 24.350 points, while Italy came in third with 24.000.
In the five-ribbon composition, the Azerbaijani group placed fifth with 19.750 points. In that event, Italy won gold (24.900), Estonia took silver (22.000), and Bulgaria earned bronze (21.950).
The Azerbaijani team has also qualified for the all-around final, which will be held in the “Cross Battle” format.
It should be noted that the European Cup will conclude on May 4.
