A sustainable security system in Europe is not possible without Türkiye, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said while answering journalists’ questions on board his plane upon returning from Ethiopia, APA’s Türkiye bureau reports.
According to him, the time has long come for Türkiye to be included in Europe’s defense and security mechanisms.
“We have been saying for years that Türkiye can make significant contributions to the European Union. The world is changing rapidly. It is not logical to exclude Türkiye. If a new defense system is to be established in Europe, it is clear that it will not be sufficient without Türkiye. The Turkish army is one of NATO’s strongest forces, and we are a country that demonstrates its strength not only at the negotiating table but also on the ground. As long as the door to diplomacy remains open, there is hope. We will continue to preserve that hope,” Erdoğan said.
