South Korea simplified supply of one type of equipment to Russia

South Korean authorities have agreed to ease the conditions for the supply of medical equipment to Russia from February 28, according to the announcement of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Resources of the republic, APA reports citing RIA Novosti.

The reason for the revision of the sanctions policy is the financial difficulties that exporting companies have recently complained about. The representative of the department, commenting on the decision in a conversation with reporters, compared it with humanitarian measures, which the United States was taking, and also asked not to associate it with the further lifting of anti-Russian sanctions.

The changes involve eliminating the need to obtain individual permits for the supply of a number of goods to Russia, and the usual documents required for export will suffice. We are talking about those that are unlikely to be used as weapons. As an example of such equipment, X-ray machines for conducting diagnostics and equipment for creating X-ray images are mentioned.

For other products that are not included in the list, the situation with permits will not change. South Korean TV channel MTN noted that in many ways the system of such permits is more like an actual ban on exports. As a result, many of them have established trade through third countries, but this increases their logistics costs.
