The Palestinian Authority's Minister of Foreign Affairs Riyad Al-Maliki spoke in the United Nations Security Council meeting on the Middle East on Tuesday, APA reports.
"We should be on the same side. All of us who believe in justice are in peace, in the role of international law, in the value and sanctity of human life. We should stand shoulder to shoulder in this moment," he said.
"But that is only possible if everyone recognizes the value of Palestinian life, and the need to uphold our rights."
Maliki also stated: "(The) message was always clear. Nothing can justify killing Israeli civilians. Well, nothing justifies killing Palestinian civilians."
Shortly afterward, Israel Foreign Minister Eli Cohen spoke to the council, saying, "This war was imposed on us. We have not chosen this war. But I have no doubt we are going to win."
Cohen thanked all the governments who have designated Hamas as a terror organization and called on "others to do it immediately."
Cohen also thanked US President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken for standing with Israel.
