North Korea’s Missile General Bureau has successfully tested a new weapons system, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said, APA reports.
The tests were conducted on September 20 and overseen by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
“This undoubtedly demonstrates the most advanced technological potential in the defence sector and represents a significant modernisation of the armed forces,” Kim said.
According to KCNA, the tests had no adverse impact on the security of neighbouring countries. The type and technical specifications of the new weapons system were not disclosed.
Kim Jong Un said possessing such technology was crucial for the country’s war preparedness and the future development of its armed forces.
