Iran has agreed at a meeting with President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi that its conditions will be conveyed to the United States, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei said in an interview with Iranian state television, APA’s Tehran bureau reports.
Rezaei said that no new discussion had taken place and no new conditions had been put forward, and that Iran’s conditions would simply be conveyed to the other side:
“Until our conditions are met, the Strait of Hormuz will not reopen and we will not hold negotiations. It is clear why we have reached this stage. Because the Americans cannot be trusted. We are seeking new diplomacy. They must meet Iran’s conditions, otherwise the Strait of Hormuz will not reopen. I have said before that the Americans are the party responsible for the closure of the straits. The Yemenis are independent, and we do not want a war between Saudi Arabia and Yemen. We are not in favor of war.”
Rezaei emphasized that Iran’s conditions must be met before the Strait of Hormuz is reopened: “They must build trust.”
