Representatives from Oman and Iran are negotiating an agreement on shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, APA reports citing Bloomberg.
According to him, the countries are discussing, among other things, the restoration of a third route through the waterway. As the agency points out, ships transit either the northern route off the coast of the Islamic Republic or the southern route, located closer to Oman. The third corridor lies between these two routes, but it has been largely unused since the beginning of the US-Israeli military operation against Iran.
According to Bloomberg, Omani negotiators are optimistic that an agreement could be announced within days.
