Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi is set to visit Algeria next Saturday for the first time in 14 years to participate at the seventh summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), APA reports citing Al Mayadeen.

The Iranian President is scheduled to continue his state visit to Algeria following the conclusion of the summit. He will reportedly engage in bilateral discussions with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and participate in the signing of cooperation agreements across various economic and cultural sectors.

Moreover, the two leaders will oversee the proceedings of the Algerian-Iranian High Joint Commission with the foreign ministers of both nations, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Ahmed Attaf, in attendance.

Earlier agreements between the two countries include the elimination of diplomatic visa requirements as an initial step toward removing regular service visas to enhance relations. They have also committed to accelerating collaboration in science, technology, knowledge-based enterprises, agriculture, medicine, medical equipment, industry, and mining.
