Former Russian Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Sklyar has been found dead, APA’s Moscow bureau reports, citing Russian media.
According to the preliminary information, Sklyar’s body was discovered at his home in the village of Popovka in New Moscow. Initial reports suggest his death is being treated as an apparent suicide.
Local media said that prior to his death, Sklyar posted a farewell message on social media in which he asked that his wife be held responsible for everything.
Alexei Sklyar served as Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Russia from 2018 to 2022. During his tenure, he oversaw the development of information systems and the digital delivery of public services.
