No final agreement has yet been reached between Iran and the United States, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said in an interview with state television, APA's Tehran bureau reports.
According to him, the course of the negotiations had been clear to Iran from the outset, and most of the final text had been agreed upon. However, the U.S. side later changed its position.
Baghaei emphasized that Iran has made no concessions regarding its defined red lines and that reports circulating about the agreement are currently only speculative in nature.
“Nothing has been finalized on this issue yet,” he said.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson added that the Strait of Hormuz remains closed due to the United States' unlawful actions, and ships should exercise caution as safe passage has not yet been ensured.
Baghaei also noted that Qatar and Pakistan are actively participating in mediation efforts between the two sides.
Recall that the Tasnim news agency, citing an informed source, reported that U.S. attempts to introduce changes to the 14-point agreement text had failed. According to the agency, Washington later informed Tehran through Qatar that no additional amendments were necessary.
Nevertheless, the text in question is still under review by the relevant Iranian authorities, and no final decision has yet been made.
