Anti-Hamas militia leader Yasser Abu Shabab was killed in what is described as an “internal clash” in the southern Gaza Strip, according to Israeli defense sources, APA reports, citing The Times of Israel.

Abu Shabab was taken to a hospital in Israel, where he died of his wounds, the sources say.

There has been no official comment from Abu Shabab’s militia, or Israeli authorities.

Reports have emerged about the death of Yasir Abu Shabab, the leader of an armed group operating against Hamas in Gaza, APA reports.

Arab media outlets have published information claiming that Yasir Abu Shabab was killed in the Rafah area of the Gaza Strip, in territory currently under Israeli control.

Details about how he was killed and who was responsible have not been disclosed.

The Times of Israel reported that Israeli authorities are investigating the reports regarding the death of the group’s leader.

Note that the group led by Yasir Abu Shabab had cooperated with Israel during the Hamas–Israel conflict and had been supplied with weapons by Israel.
