Filming of the Azerbaijan-shot part of the movie “Armour of God 4: Ultimatum” has been successfully completed. This is the largest-scale foreign film production project ever carried out in the country, ARKA told APA.
It was noted that attracting foreign film producers to the country is one of the main directions of the policy defined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the field of cinema:
“One of the objectives of the Order ‘On Certain Issues Related to the Production of Cinematographic Works and Other Audiovisual Works in the Territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan,’ signed by the head of state on May 29, 2025, was to attract foreign film producers to the country. To this end, various methods were envisaged, including the introduction of a ‘cash rebate’ mechanism providing for the reimbursement of part of the expenses incurred by foreign film producers.
Over the past year, intensive work has been carried out to address the issues arising from the Order. The Azerbaijan Film Commission, established by the Ministry of Culture to promote film production in the country, has promoted the new opportunities offered by the country among foreign film producers. The initial results of the work carried out are already evident.”
“The coordinated efforts of various state bodies under the coordination of the Ministry of Culture — including the Ministries of Digital Development and Transport, Internal Affairs, Emergency Situations and other institutions — a total of 26 official organizations, played an important role in supporting the film crew and ensuring the successful filming of the Azerbaijan part of ‘Armour of God 4: Ultimatum.’
The smooth filming process and its successful completion will help Azerbaijan become an attractive location for other international film production projects as well. This, in turn, will increasingly draw the attention of the international film industry to our country.
The implementation of global projects in our country also has a positive impact on the development of the local film industry. More than 200 local specialists and dozens of local companies were involved in the production of ‘Armour of God 4: Ultimatum.’ Such activities enable local film professionals to gain experience and strengthen international cooperation.
The filming of global blockbusters in the country is extremely effective in terms of promoting Azerbaijan worldwide, including expanding its tourism opportunities. After the film is released, tens of millions of Jackie Chan fans around the world, particularly in Southeast Asian countries, will be encouraged to discover Azerbaijan as a new tourism destination.
Following the completion of filming of the Azerbaijan part of ‘Armour of God 4: Ultimatum,’ Jackie Chan met with representatives of the state bodies and companies that supported the process. The actor personally thanked all the organizations for their support and presented commemorative gifts.”
