Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday echoed warnings from European leaders that Russian President Vladimir Putin could seek to expand the war beyond Ukraine, potentially bringing the conflict into NATO territory, APA reports.
"Leaders have intelligence showing Russia's intentions," Zelenskyy said in his address at the UN General Assembly. The Ukrainian president went on to say that Russia used citizens from 47 countries to fight its war in Ukraine, including soldiers from Ghana, Nepal, Tajikistan, India, China, Cuba, Belarus, Yemen, and South Africa. "We see people from your countries dying on the battlefield ... who ended up in Russia through deception and tricks."
Addressing the leaders of those countries, Zelenskyy urged them to prevent their citizens from "ending up on another front."
