U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern stated this in his interview with the Voice of America radio, commenting on Washington’s efforts to restore the process of Turkey-Armenia rapprochement, APA reports quoting the Armenian media.
As regards whether or not the US will call on the Turkish president to make a visit to Yerevan on 24 April 2015, the ambassador regarded the Turkish PM’s April statement as a step forward and said they will try to be more helpful in this process.
“Nonetheless, the Turkish President and PM must make a decision by themselves”, he added.
