Killers of students arrested by Mexican authorities

Baku. Rufat Ahmadzada – APA. Mexican authorities have arrested several people who confessed to killing 17 students in the city of Iguala, stated Inaky Blanco, the chief prosecutor of the state of Guerrero, APA reports quoting RIA Novosti.

 

Blanco stated that a policeman and two other people confessed to taking part in the killing of the students. According to the prosecutor, they had links to Guerrero's "Unidos" gang.

 

According to those who were arrested, the murdered students were buried in a mass grave near Iguala.

 

Earlier, 28 bodies were found in six hidden mass graves, which were discovered by police officers when searching for the missing students.

 

At midnight on September 26, a group of policemen, accompanied by unidentified armed people, cracked down on students in Iguala who were protesting against educational reforms. Six people were killed and 17 were injured as a result of the violence. Fifty-seven students went missing, with 14 having returned home later. Guerrero's Prosecutor's Office and Armed Forces arrested 22 policemen once an investigation was rolled out.
