Baku-APA. The first human clinical trials of a Canadian-developed vaccine against Ebola will start in the United States on Monday, the Canadian health minister said, APA repots quoting ITAR-TASS.
"We are able to share some very promising and hopeful news in the fight against Ebola," Rona Ambrose said adding that the trials will be conducted at a medical center in Maryland.
Ambrose said that the new vaccine was "100 per cent effective" when tested on animals.
She added that if the vaccine proved safe and effective in the trials, it could stop the devastating outbreak that has alreday killed more than 4,000 people in West Africa.
