US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in an interview with Fox News that Iran is attacking tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz with unmanned aerial vehicles, APA reports.
According to him, although some tankers are attacked, they continue on their way.
“Tankers may be damaged. Many of them just keep going. The Iranians may send three, four, five, six drones after them. Our Navy intercepts them,” Bessent said.
Bessent noted that currently 10–17 million barrels of oil are transported through the Strait of Hormuz per day. He said that before the war, this figure was approximately 20 million barrels.
