US President Donald Trump will discuss halting strikes on Russian energy infrastructure facilities during his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in New York on Tuesday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in an interview with Fox News.
Rubio stated that halting strikes on energy supply infrastructure in both Ukraine and Russia would be an "excellent idea."
"We believe that stopping strikes on energy infrastructure would be an excellent idea. In that case, neither infrastructure facilities in Ukraine nor facilities related to Russia's energy supply would be attacked. This is the ideal option," Rubio noted.
Note that Trump held a phone conversation with Zelenskyy on Sunday. According to a source cited by Axios, the US President once again asked the Ukrainian leader to stop attacks on Russian oil refineries. According to the report, Trump said these attacks were causing diesel fuel prices to rise on the global market.
