US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has expressed hope that nuclear negotiations with the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue during a hearing at the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, APA reports.
He stated that he believes the collapse of the negotiations would be a worse outcome and emphasized that the United States is ready to proceed if necessary.
Rubio underlined that Washington’s goal is to reach an agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
“President Trump has made it very clear that Iran must never obtain nuclear weapons, and that will not happen,” he added.
The Secretary of State noted that the US remains engaged in the diplomatic process, acknowledging that while the goal is difficult to achieve, it is a process they are committed to.
