United States President Donald Trump on Thursday signed an executive order officially renaming Lake Ontario as Lake America, with the change taking effect immediately, APA reports.
Trump dismissed the question that the move sends any message to Canada, saying Ottawa has been "ripping" the United States "off for a very long time" on both trade and military matters. "We defend Canada for nothing; we don't get anything. They don't pay us to defend Canada," the president underlined.
"We have a Gulf. And we have a lake. Now all we need is an ocean. So maybe we will have to change the name of the Atlantic or the Pacific," Trump stated.
