US President Donald Trump believes that Ukraine and Russia should resolve the issue of ending the war on their own, according to Trump’s press conference, APA reports.
The American leader responded to whether he wants the first step to come from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Russian President regarding an end to the war before the US joins negotiations with them.
"Well, I don't mind. I mean, let them deal. I'm the one that got them to this position, and I think that's going to get worked out. I think we're getting close to where Russia (and) Ukraine should have... But I think that's going to get worked out," Trump emphasized.
He noted that he believes the war in Ukraine will end and reiterated that it should never have started in the first place.
