President Donald Trump's discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will lead to the establishment of peace on the continent, said the U.S. Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth in a press briefing, APA reports.
"There is only one person in the world who has the ability to bring the parties together and ensure peace: that is President Donald Trump. He demonstrated this yesterday by speaking with both the Russian and Ukrainian presidents, and we believe this will lead to lasting and long-term peace on the continent," Hegseth noted.
According to the Defense Secretary, Trump's goal is to bring peace, which aligns with the interests of both Europe and the U.S.
