It is time for Ukraine to hold presidential elections, U.S. President Donald Trump sain in an interview with Politico, APA reports.
"It’s been a long time. It’s, uh ... hasn’t been doing particularly well. Yeah, I think it’s time. I think it’s an important time to hold an election. They’re using war not to hold an election, but, uh, I would think the Ukrainian people would ... should have that choice. And maybe Zelenskyy would win. I don’t know who would win. But they haven’t had an election in a long time. You know, they talk about a democracy, but it gets to a point where it’s not a democracy anymore," Trump stressed.
The US leader also said that Zelenskyy should pull himself together and start accepting US proposals.
According to him, Europe is having difficulty resolving the Ukrainian conflict.
