President Donald Trump announced Sunday that an agreement with Iran has been reached and that the US will end its naval blockade on the country, marking the most significant development yet in months of negotiations, APA reports citing CNN.
“The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all!” Trump declared in a Truth Social post.
Details of the agreement were not immediately released, and Tehran has not commented on the announcement.
The president said he was authorizing the immediate removal of the US naval blockade, writing, “Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!”
“I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade,” Trump wrote.
