United States President Donald Trump announced that he's pausing the 50% tariff on some Canadian goods, which was due to take effect just after midnight, for a "three day period", APA reports.
Trump said the pause on the tariff that would have affected some $20 billion worth of Canadian imports stems from the fact that "Canada and the USA, subject to the finalization of documents, have a DEAL!" He also noted that the Keystone XL Pipeline, a project that was abandoned in 2021 by its Canadian backer, TC Energy, "may be awoken from the grave."
