"The attack on Beirut this morning should not have happened, especially on a special day when we are so close to a peace agreement with Iran. Israel has the right to defend itself against threats, but this retaliatory strike was carried out in response to a very minor and insignificant incident. As a result, no one was killed, injured, or harmed. This event should not disrupt such an important process," US President Donald Trump on his page on the Truth Social platform.
Trump said that the parties are very close to reaching an agreement that would bring peace to the region, including Lebanon, and therefore all sides should work to reduce tensions.
"There should be no further attacks by Israel anywhere in Lebanon. At the same time, no party, including Hezbollah, should carry out attacks against Israel.
This could be the beginning of a lasting and beautiful peace. Let's not miss this opportunity. Thank you for your attention to this matter," Trump wrote.
