"We not only listened to each other, but we also heard each other," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said this at a press conference in Riyadh, summarizing the results of the Russia-U.S. talks, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.
According to him, the talks were very useful.
The Russian Foreign Minister spoke about the agreements reached with the U.S. side during the talks.
He stated that, according to the agreement reached, Russia and the U.S. would ensure the appointment of ambassadors as soon as possible: "Russia and the U.S. will remove obstacles to the work of diplomatic missions during Biden’s administration. We agreed that a regulation process regarding Ukraine will be formed soon, and the U.S. will announce who will represent Washington, and as soon as we know who it is, we will immediately appoint our own representative to participate in the process."
Lavrov emphasized that there are grounds to believe that the American side has started to listen to Russia’s position more attentively: "Russia and the U.S. have agreed that when interests do not overlap, it should be resolved rather than provoke conflict. In parallel, we will create conditions for the full restoration and expansion of our cooperation in a broad range of spectrum."
