The world is experiencing a period of simultaneous economic and geopolitical transition, and many international problems have no simple or ideal solutions, said US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in an interview with Fox Radio, APA reports.
"I think the world is going through a period of transition—both economic and geopolitical. Many of the problems facing the world don't have simple answers, and sometimes they don't even have ideal solutions," Rubio said.
According to him, in foreign policy, one often has to choose not between "perfect and bad" solutions, but between "two less-than-perfect approaches." The task of the US government in such cases, Rubio noted, is to determine which option will cause the least harm to the country's interests.
