Reaching an agreement with Iran will require time and hard work, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told the press in New York, APA reports.
He noted that reaching an agreement with Iran means efforts and a negotiation process that will take time. Rubio also emphasized that US President Donald Trump has a military option at his disposal.
“I think the Iranians have fallen under this illusion that somehow Democrats are going to win in November and Trump will no longer be able to do anything against them. I just don’t think they understand our system very well,” Rubio said.
The US Secretary of State noted that any agreement with Iran would require “hard work over a certain period of time.” He also said that Washington would continue to protect shipping and keep the Strait of Hormuz open.
