The United States and Iran have yet to achieve a decisive military advantage over one another, raising the possibility that their confrontation could continue for months.
According to an analysis by The Wall Street Journal, based on interviews with military experts, neither Washington nor Tehran has been able to secure a breakthrough on the battlefield.
The experts interviewed said that while both sides may have reached the limits of what they can achieve through military force alone, they continue to signal their willingness to escalate the conflict further.
The newspaper noted that the current stalemate increases the risk of a prolonged confrontation, as both sides seek to strengthen their positions and gain a strategic advantage.
It also pointed out that Iran has already demonstrated its ability to withstand years of sanctions and resist U.S. efforts to exert economic pressure.
