US forces have redirected 68 commercial vessels since the naval blockade of Iranian ports was reinstated, according to the US Central Command (CENTCOM).
“As of August 21, U.S. forces have redirected 68 commercial vessels to ensure compliance, disabled three and conducted inspections aboard two,” CENTCOM said.
The United States resumed the naval blockade against vessels traveling to or from Iranian ports and coastal areas in July. CENTCOM has said its forces are enforcing the blockade to prevent commercial vessels from entering or leaving Iranian ports.
