Joint action discovered that two bread manufacturers – “MuÄŸan” and “SÉ™ma” – had not been complying with the fixed standards in their production of bread, cutting down on the weight in order to covertly raise the price.
The Main Anti-Corruption Department has warned the two firms that they would face drastic measures in case such offences are repeated in the future.
The Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Protection Service under the Ministry of Economy and Industry and the Main Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General recommend entrepreneurs to avoid raising prices artificially, creating shortage of products deliberately and other cases of abuse.
