Number of buffalos sharply decreases in Azerbaijan

Official of the ministry Chingiz Farajov told APA that the number of buffalos decreased in Azerbaijan compared to previous years.

“At present, there are 265,000 buffalos in the country, whereas this figure was above 400,000 last year”, Farajov noted.

He added that all European countries are seeking buffalo. These animals demand less eating and water.

“We appealed to the FAO in 2005. But despite 8 years passed, we are still waiting for the respond. We need implementation of at least one small project”, Farajov said.
