He says in 2012, more than 800,000 tonnes of fruit, 2 mln tonnes o vegetable were produced and it exceeds the demand by 1.8 times.

Note that the Ministry targets to meet the demand of population for food products from domestic production.

“We achieved 80-85% of it in grain production and 15% is imported. Total productivity did not exceed 28 metric centners for a hectare. According to our calculations, if we increase it to 35 metric centners we’ll able to meet the demand of the country”, Musayev added.
