Clinical signs of viral disease ‘Nodular Dermatitis’ revealed in some regions of Azerbaijan - SVS

Baku. Gulnar Bashirova - APA. The clinical signs of the viral disease ‘Nodular Dermatitis’ which spread among cattle and recently found in Iraq, Turkey and Iran were also revealed in Bilasuvar, Ujar, Jalilabad and Aghdash regions of Azerbaijan.

 

The State Veterinary Service (SVS) told APA that the animals showing the signs of the disease are being receiving symptomatic treatment (measures are taken for normalizing various functions of the agricultural animals against infectious diseases).

 

Under the instructions by Minister of Agriculture Heydar Asadov, cattle markets have already been closed in some regions and disinfection measures are being taken in order to prevent the disease.

 

This viral disease is manifested by fever and inflammation of the skin with the formation of characteristic nodules. This category includes the clinical presentations of multiple nodules, draining tracts, or severe crusted or exudative lesions. The disease is found only among bovine animals transmitted by blood-sucking insects.

 

The disease is characterized by animal products, including dairy and meat products decline, reduce of quality of leather products, estrous cycle of cattle and occurrence of economic losses.

 

There are no casualties among animals yet. Preventive veterinary-sanitary measures are carried out.

 

The SVS controls the disease, takes treatment measures for the newly-infected animals, preventive measures for healthy animals and desinsection measures.
