Baku. Aynur Aliyeva – APA-Economics. Minister of Agriculture Heydar Asadov has today met with Netherlands senator Rene Van der Linden. The meeting aimed to discuss rural cooperation between two countries. The meeting was also attended by Ambassador of Netherlands to Azerbaijan Robert Jan Gabrielsen.
Ministry’s press service told APA-Economics that Asadov spoke about existing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Netherlands and noted significance of projects, trainings and seminars of Netherlands government in the support of events held in rural sphere of Azerbaijan.
Noting basic obstacles that local businessmen faced during the export of agricultural products from Azerbaijan to Netherlands, the Minister said it’s important to sign legal documents between the relevant state bodies of the sides in phytosanitary and veterinary sphere to increase facilitation of trading of agricultural products.
Appreciating existing cooperation between two countries, R. Linden offered some proposals regarding cooperation with agriculture spheres of Azerbaijan. He also note he will lead the delegation from agriculture sphere to visit Baku in 2014.
