Baku. Aynur Aliyeva – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan’s Minister of Agriculture Ismat Abasov has today met with newly-appointed ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands to Azerbaijan Robbert Gabrielsen.
Abasov said Azerbaijan and Netherlands have wide potential in agricultural sphere. He noted the importance to strengthen cooperation for realization of this potential and increasing trade turnover of agricultural products. The minister said in order to ease the export of Azeri products to the EU, as well as Netherlands, it is necessary to sign bilateral agreements in veterinary and phytosanitary fields.
Abasov brought to the attention that thanks to economic reforms conducted over the last 10 years, successes achieved in fight against poverty have improved welfare and living conditions of population.
In turn, the ambassador noted that increasing role and economic progress of Azerbaijan was very estimable: “Both countries have large potential and tradition in agricultural sphere. It is necessary to deeply research the existing opportunities for realization of this potential. I will do my best for further development of bilateral relations”.
