Based on the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, 52 agroparks have been established in 32 districts, Natig Amirov, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Economic Policy and Industrial Issues Department of the Presidential Administration, said at a regional meeting for the Gazakh-Tovuz economic region in Shamkir dedicated to the discussion of the “State Program for 2026–2030 on the Development of Agricultural, Fisheries and Aquaculture Production and Processing Sectors in the Republic of Azerbaijan,” APA reports.
He stated that the establishment of agroparks has played a particularly important role in promoting entrepreneurship on a broader scale, producing competitive agricultural products, eliminating dependence on imports for certain agricultural products, and increasing employment:
“The provision of direct subsidies to agricultural producers has been recognized as the main state support mechanism for the comprehensive development of the agricultural sector and ensuring food security. The newly introduced subsidy mechanisms promote regional specialization, the application of innovative technologies, efficient use of land and water resources, and sustainable development as a whole. As can be seen, the need to move to a qualitatively new stage has necessitated the adoption of a new State Program that meets modern requirements and is focused on high-productivity, export-oriented production.”
