According to him, 200-300,000 ha plots of land were allotted for this purpose: “As the first state, 4,800 ha plot of land was allotted in Agjabadi and Beylagan Regions. The tender has also been announced. It is planned to get 50-55 centners of product from each ha applying modern melioration and irrigation, agro technique and agro chemistry”.
He also noted that this will solve the issue on Azerbaijan’s food safety.
Mammadov also said that 40% of lands in Azerbaijan was salted. Salted areas are mainly in Kur-Araz lowland. 30% of 2.3 mln ha here was salted.
