Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Within the framework of Berlin visit, Minister of Agriculture Ismat Abasov has held several business meetings.
The ministry told APA-Economics that I.Abasov met with Estonian counterpart Helir-Valdor Seeder. The meeting focused on the works carried out for strengthening of cooperation in agricultural sphere within the past period after the discussions conducted during Seeder’s visit to Azerbaijan in April of 2012 for participation in FAO Regional Conference for Europe. Abasov noted that draft agreements had been prepared on veterinary, phyto-sanitary and scientific and technical cooperation and submitted to Estonian side. At the same time, Estonian minister invited Abasov to Exhibition for agriculture, to be held in April, 2013, in Tartu city of Estonia.
Besides, Abasov met with Latvian Agriculture Minister Laimdota Straujuma. Though the sides considered trade turnover of agricultural products of vegetable and animal origin between the two countries satisfactory, they mentioned its low level from the existing potential.
Laimdota invited Abasov to agricultural exhibition, which will take place in April, 2013, in Riga.
