If Azerbaijani government considers admissible the Strategic Master Plan on development of agrarian-industrial sector in Azerbaijan, which will be discussed within the framework of the visit of Argentinean Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Norberto Yauhar to Baku, then it will be possible to realize concrete joint projects on agriculture.
The Ministry of Agriculture told APA-Economics that the approved proposals on development of cooperation between the two countries have been reflected in the memorandum of understanding, signed on September 21, 2011.
The memorandum considers compiling of a Joint Cooperation Program for acceleration of cooperation.
Besides, in order to increase the volume of trade turnover between both countries, it is considered to take measures for facilitation of trade of animal and vegetable products, as well as achieve exchange and mutual recognition of certificates of phyto-sanitary and veterinary.
Though at present there is some trade turnover of agricultural and food products between the two countries, in general trade relations are lower than the existing potential.
